ALIGN OR DIE:
I landed in WYS with the help of Javier Solá, third generation of the family business, who had taken on the challenge of leading the company to a new stage. Immediately I perceived that it would be a significant challenge, the company was in an important process of change, there were many initiatives on the table and a generational transition in progress at different levels. Like a ship, the company wanted to turn to become a Services company, combining it with a history and existing dynamics and under the production paradigm. The change had begun and the challenge was to make it sustainable and coherent to generate this new trajectory.
Those who know me know that I love supporting the challenges of transformation and, even more, working with people who want to make it an experience of growth, not only for the organization, but also for all its members.
So I raised a type of accompaniment where I sensed that I could offer a better contribution, work in an effective leadership of this transformation under the common denominator of ALIGNMENT.
They say that most family businesses do not survive the third generation. It is an interesting challenge that involves a high degree of collective commitment (alignment) of strengths to take the organization to the next level.
That was the beginning of a story that we followed and that inspired me the title “Align or die” that I summarize briefly in several tweets:
#Align with the purpose, what WYS really wants to be.
#Align with values and create culture, committed, passionate, flexible and courageous.
#Alignment is to focus and prioritize
#Align in ambition for growth at different levels.
#Align all stakeholders. Achieving a coherent balance between the sometimes contradictory interests of all groups that have a legitimate interest in the organization.
#Alignment is to dare to do new things, to challenge ideas, prejudices, status quo.
#Alignment implies intelligence, competence and organizational health.
#Alignment requires analysis, reflection, follow-up of the trajectory and taking the appropriate changes.
#Alternate enhancing the role and impact that the project requires today, beyond particular names.
# Align between different bodies: Council, CEO, Committee, Teams
#Alignment is to communicate
#Alignment is to incorporate new competences and experiences into the DNA.
#Alignment is a voluntary act and people are due to do it. As their values say… those committed, elastic, passionate and brave.
If you want to transform a family business and take it to the next level, first transform people and their dynamics!
Grateful to share your way,
