This week Witte y Solá celebrated at the Montanyà Hotel & Lodge its annual convention focused on the empowerment and motivation of the staff. With the motto Leaders with you, 176 workers and former employees met for a whole day to participate in workshops and team building activities. In addition, following our social commitment, the day included a solidarity activity.
Change, growth and recognition
The team INTI, with Ana Guiu and Ainhoa Berganza, opened the day with a fun and dynamic workshop so that Witte and Solá workers could become aware of how self-knowledge and emotion management can help individuals and teams. Knowing oneself, knowing the team, identifying feelings and objectives, etc.
For three hours, the trainers managed to keep the attention of the participants with fun and energetic activities with the aim of reinforcing the team-belonging feeling and connecting with the common dream.
Leaders of Southern Europe
The day also was used to share with the members of Witte y Solá the news of the Strategic Plan 321 and the 3P Industrial Plan of the company.
With an investment of 4.2 million euros to reach a turnover of 21 million in two years, some of the actions included in the Strategic Plan are:
- Construction of the seventh line for polyvalent manufacturing
- Reaching a capacity of more than 230 million of aluminum tubes and more than 30 million laminated tubes for 2021
- Capacity to provide solutions to technical and sustainability challenges
- Diversification of the product portfolio to consolidate growth
- Expansion of the facilities
- Transfer of the technological development center and training areas to the WYS factory
In addition to the 3P Industrial Plan that focuses on people:
- Organizational changes to adapt to the market needs
- Strengthen knowledge and training
- Prepare for the incorporation of new personnel and for the growth of the company
- WYS Campus as a high center performance to encourage professional and personal growth through knowledge
Likewise other corporate news were reported such as the new ISO certifications of Amfer, the main responsible for the production of WYS caps; the redesign of the MisTubos e-commerce or the future online service platform to offer customers and suppliers the best experience.
Solidarity team building
In the afternoon the activity continued with an exciting competition: the Olympic Cooperative Games of WYS.
Several teams faced tests such as spider web, blanket volleyball, a multi-ski circuit or a multi-bags race until being in a final test. In this, they had to overcome a circuit with 10 obstacle zones, each team got access to a section while transporting a rolled sail that was passed as a witness to the next team. Once the 10 tests were passed and when the goal was reached, the banners of both groups were displayed in which the motto of the day and the hidden message were read: Witte and Solá will donate to the NGO Sonrisas de Bombay a check of 5,000€
Through this game of effort, cooperation and challenges, the WYS teams competed to make the fight against poverty in the slums of India stronger and showed the values that are part of the company’s DNA.
Fight against poverty and respect for Human Rights
With this contribution, WYS continues to devote part of its efforts to the fight for a fairer society, for the respect of Human Rights and equal opportunities, in this case in Mumbai, India. Mumbai Smiles (Sonrisas de Bombay) works in the slums, the most disadvantaged slums of the city where, in cooperation with the local community, works in health, education and socio-economic development actions. So far, more than 8,000 people have gone through the projects of the entity.
