Last 18 October, I had the good fortune to participate in the event “The journey of managing through values” organized by Synergie, a leading human resources company. The event was held in the Sant Cugat high performance centre (CAR). As part of the CARSpeakers project, a training program to apply the experiences of elite athletes to businesses, two sectors that have much in common and where values and talent management are essential, we spent several hours on an emotional journey through Synergie’s values.
Those values are: commitment, passion, teamwork, overcoming adversity and faithfulness to identity – all of them wrapped in excitement.
The event was attended by seven Olympic athletes: Paralympic swimmer Carla Casals; racewalker Raquel González; field hockey players Quico Cortés, Pau Quemada and Miki Delàs; rhythmic gymnast Esther Escolar and high jumper Miguel Ángel Sancho.
During the event, the athletes discussed their own experiences in their professional careers. Each of them talked about the problems they have experienced in sport, but also the good times.
I think that the video they used to kick off the event reflects many of the values that we are promoting at Witte y Solà.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
